The climate, energy and supply spokespersons from two of the government parties, Lea Wermelin (S) and Linea Søgaard-Lidell (V), unsurprisingly agreed on what the situation looks like right now for the future of hydrogen in Denmark at the Hydrogen Industry Conference under the heading: Made in Denmark.

The left-wing politician with a past in the European Parliament before she became a member of the Folketing, and she can already see one thing for the conference.

- In a few years it will be much bigger, Linea Søgaard-Lidell said to the assembly of hydrogen industry stakeholders.

Her colleague from the Social Democrats was so focused on securing important frameworks.

- Our most important task as politicians is to secure the entire hydrogen infrastructure. A decision will be made before the summer holidays, so we will start negotiations soon, says Lea Wermelin and elaborates:

- Other countries such as Germany are very aware of whether there will be any hydrogen from us that they can use.

She received support for this with a specific proposal from the other rapporteur.

- We will look into an agenda where there will be a need for green fuels from hydrogen, says Linea Søgaard-Lidell.

Today's moderator Tine Gøtsche put the two politicians under a bit of pressure.

- There is a lot that people from the industry here in the chamber are calling for from you politicians, the journalist noted.

And Lea Wermelin already knew that the timeframe is a big issue for the assembly.

- Things happen, so you can always discuss whether it will work too soon. We are on the ball, and we are listening to you. It will become a discussion about 2030 targets too soon. My concern is that we will end up waiting for each other, says Wermelin, and she was complemented.

- You must ensure the development, then we will ensure the demand for hydrogen, said Linea Søgaard-Lidell.
