Energinet has announced to the electricity and gas sector on Wednesday that the alert level is being lowered from yellow to green.
The change is due to the Danish Energy Agency recommending that Energinet lower the sector alert level in the energy sector by one level based on an overall assessment of the threat landscape. The change means that the sector is moving from a heightened alert level to a slightly heightened alert level, the state-owned company said in a statement.
This is the second time that Energinet - as responsible for the overall operation of the Danish electricity and gas system - has lowered the sector alert level since it was raised to the second highest level on 27 September this year. At that time, the level was raised to orange as a result of the sabotage against Nordstream 1 and Nordstream 2 in the Baltic Sea.
On 31 October, the sector alert level was lowered from orange to yellow. And today it is being lowered from yellow to green.
Changes in the sector readiness level mean, among other things, that the requirements for access to electricity and gas facilities are adjusted up or down, and that the degree of monitoring is adjusted. The specific measures vary from facility to facility, and for security reasons they are not communicated publicly.
The sector readiness level in the energy sector can be raised and lowered for shorter or longer periods in relation to the threat picture. The lowest level is white, which applies in a normal situation. The highest level on the scale is red.
