The green transition is taking place more and more in Denmark. This has led, among other things, to Energinet hiring many new employees in the past year and is also expected to hire more in the future. Therefore, Energinet has put plans for an expansion of the company's headquarters in Erritsø near Fredericia on hold.
The expansion of the headquarters in Fredericia will more than double with the expansion. Those plans have now come a significant step closer to realization. Thus, after putting the task out to tender, Energinet has chosen a project with NCC as the main contractor and with C.F. Møller Architects and Artelia as suppliers of concepts and drawings, Energinet states in a press release.
It was an overall assessment of price, architecture, technology and sustainability that ultimately determined the outcome,
- We have chosen the project from NCC based on an overall assessment of price, architecture, technology and sustainability. We look forward to moving into a responsible building where sustainability can be measured and felt in everyday life, and where there is light and air and an inspiring working environment for our growing group of skilled employees who will contribute to Denmark reaching the goal of the green transition, says Marianne Hansen, member of the evaluation committee and Director of Group Finance and Business Support at Energinet.
The building has been designed with a starting point of approximately 900 office workplaces. The new building includes a connection between the existing domicile building and the new building on the ground floor, 1st floor, 2nd floor and basement level, respectively, and a number of shared facilities such as a canteen, meeting rooms and outdoor spaces will be established. In total, the building covers 26,750 m2 including the basement.
We are proud and happy that Energinet has chosen our solution. We have submitted a well-thought-out and thoroughly processed proposal together with C.F. Møller and Artelia, says Lasse Ebler, senior tender manager in NCC's construction unit in the West under Building Nordics.
The work will begin in the summer of 2024. Energinet's new domicile should be ready for occupancy in the fourth quarter of 2026.
