ODSHERRED: Odsherred Forsyning's managing director, Fanny Villadsen, has resigned because she got a new job on June 1. This is announced by the company.
The termination comes at the same time that the city council on Tuesday gave its nod to a recommendation from mayor Karina Vincentz (Nyt Odsherred) and the municipal director that Susan Münster be appointed as the new chairman of the board of Odsherred Forsyning.
The situation for the company has long been turbulent and stems from serious financial problems in a district heating project in the southern part of the municipality.
Director: Fresh forces are needed
The outgoing director will leave it to others to find the best solutions for the company.
- It is clear to me that the new board should choose their own director, says Fanny Villadsen, who makes her knowledge available to the future director and chairman of the board .
Fanny Villadsen has held various positions in Odsherred Forsyning since 2013, before she became managing director in 2019.
While she was on maternity leave in 2022-2023, a former finance director was acting as managing director, and serious miscalculations in the calculations on his part subsequently emerged.
The finance director was initially fired in January. It was shortly afterwards changed to an expulsion, on the grounds that he had breached the company's internal guidelines. In March, a legal investigation was launched and a police report was filed.
The previous chairman resigned in April as the third politician in a short time. Already in March, he established that the board had not been presented with the real financial basis of the district heating project, and that the rates would rise.
The construction costs were first estimated at DKK 950 million. DKK, but has been adjusted upwards in two rounds, so that they now stand at DKK 1.6 billion. DKK The problems in the utility company will, on the whole, have an impact on the municipality's finances.
Currently, negotiations are underway with creditors Nordea and Kommunekredit, where the municipality has provided a guarantee for the district heating project of DKK 576 million.
Mayor: We must stand together
At the city council meeting on Tuesday, mayor Karina Vincentz called for everyone to stand together to get Odsherred Forsyning back on its feet.
- We need to get good competences into the board, she said and emphasized that this is an extraordinarily difficult situation that will have an impact on the municipality's finances and on the many citizens who depend on the company's services.
Susan Münster is today director of the industry association Danske Vandværker and was previously director of Holbæk Forsyning. Together with her, Niels Larsen, director of the association Decentral Energi, is nominated as a new board member.
The last vacant board seat is waiting for the board to find out what skills it lacks.
