With a total turnover of 195.8 million DKK, corresponding to an increase of 10.2 percent, and an operating profit (EBITDA) of 94.2 MDKK, which is 6.6 percent better than in 2021, the port company ADP, which is owned by the municipalities of Fredericia, Nyborg, and Middelfart, had a historically good financial year in 2022. The port company announced this in a press release.

After tax, the profit is 106.1 million DKK compared to a 2021 result of 104 million DKK. The result after tax includes value adjustments on the company's investment properties. ADP itself describes the result for 2022 as "very satisfactory."

- The Board of Directors is pleased that ADP delivers another historically good result with high growth in turnover and a very solid operating result. ADP has never been stronger as a modern port and infrastructure company, and with the 2022 Business Award in Fredericia, everyone at ADP received well-deserved recognition for the good results, says Erik Østergaard, Chairman of the Board of Directors of ADP.

Strengthened market position and all-time high on containers

The growth initiatives and investments launched in recent years have strengthened ADP's market position with new business areas, increasing cargo volumes, a rapidly developing property portfolio and a future-proof port infrastructure.

In 2022, ADP felt the effect of the importance of ports for Denmark's security of supply and for maintaining the supply chains for manufacturing Denmark in a time of increasing unpredictability in several markets.

This has, among other things, This is due to the fact that the container business has been at an "all time high" level throughout the year and sets another record with 110,646 TEU against 104,284 TEU in the record year 2021, corresponding to an increase of 6.1 percent.

- Our overall core business has delivered at an extraordinarily high level, with both the full-year effect of the rental activities in Taulov Dry Port and record-high cargo volumes within several business areas such as containers, agribulk and biofuel contributing to the historically good result. The record-high volumes at the port terminals throughout 2022 are a reminder that the ADP ports play an important role in society, says Rune D. Rasmussen, CEO of ADP A/S.

Development must create more growth

ADP is soon on its way with a port expansion in Fredericia, just as the port company is focusing on continued development of Taulov Dry Port.

According to ADP, the development of the port's areas must focus on sustainability and climate considerations in property investments, which helps to future-proof the capacity for future growth, environmentally friendly forms of transport and the green transition, including a focus on the PtX industry.

- ADP generates a very good operating profit of 94.2 million DKK and thus again dividends to shareholders, but even more importantly, ADP helps create jobs and contribute to a greener future for the benefit of citizens, including with the establishment of PtX infrastructure. In Fredericia, we must dare to lead the way with the green transition for the benefit of all of Denmark, says ADP board member Tommy Rachlitz Nielsen (C), member of Fredericia City Council and chairman of the Climate, Energy and Environment Committee in the municipality.

ADP A/S owns and operates Fredericia Port and Nyborg Port and is responsible for the operation of Middelfart Trafikhavn. Fredericia Municipality is the main shareholder with 89 percent of the shares in ADP A/S, Nyborg Municipality owns 10.6 percent and Middelfart Municipality owns 0.4 percent.
