Vestforbrænding's board of directors for the period 2026-2030 has been constituted, and this entails a change in the chairmanship. From now on, Michael Fenger (K), mayor of Gentofte Municipality, will be the new chairman, while the outgoing chairman Ole Bondo Christensen, a member of the city council of Furesø Municipality, will instead continue as deputy chairman. This is stated by I/S Vestforbrænding in a press release.
Following the municipal elections in 2025, the 19 owner municipalities behind Vestforbrænding have appointed their board members. The board consists of one member from each owner municipality and one employee representative and has a total of 20 members, of which 11 are new.
The new board will, among other things, continue to work on strategic decisions that have already been made, including projects within district heating and CO? capture, where a final decision will be made at the beginning of January. At the same time, there will continue to be a focus on daily operations and on maintaining the company's position in a more liberalized waste market.
- When I look back on the previous four years, it has been a period of strategically important decisions. It is now the task of this board to see these decisions through to completion, says Michael Fenger. The new chairman continues:

I am pleased that he will continue on the board as vice chairman. I would also like to thank my colleagues for the trust they have shown in me.
