In October, Semco Maritime and PTSC M&C's joint consortium was appointed as the preferred supplier to deliver two offshore substations for the two Taiwanese offshore wind farms Hai Long 2 and Hai Long 3. Now the agreement has finally been reached and the EPC contract has been signed, Semco Maritime informs in a press release.

Following the conclusion of the EPC contract, the consortium will carry out detailed design, procurement, manufacture and commissioning of the two offshore substations including jackets, which will be manufactured at PTSC M&C's shipyard in Vungtau City in southern Vietnam.

- Our initial collaboration with the parties involved on the Hai Long Offshore Wind Project has been a real pleasure, and we are pleased that the contract has now been signed, so that we can take the next steps on the road with our consortium partner PTSC M&C and the subcontractors, says Vice President Renewables, Semco Maritime, Frank Holm.

The Hai Long Offshore Wind Project will contribute to the Taiwanese government's goal of having installed 5.5 GW of offshore wind capacity to secure Taiwan's leading position in offshore wind in East Asia. The project consists of the Hai Long 2 and Hai Long 3 wind farms in the Taiwan Strait about 50 kilometers from the coast and is being jointly developed by Northland Power Inc., Yushan Energy Pte. Ltd. and Mitsui & Co., Ltd. with a total capacity of 1,044 MW.

The project's offshore installation is expected to be completed in 2024 with final commissioning in 2026.
