The Planning Complaints Board is now escaping the critical light of the Auditor General, while there is still criticism of the Environmental Complaints Board.
Two and a half years ago, the National Audit Office and subsequently the State Auditors first criticized that the waiting time for a complaint to be processed in a number of different areas was too long.
During the relocation of government workplaces in 2017, a number of complaints boards were brought together in the Boards' House in Viborg, which led to a backlog of cases. The criticism in 2021 was that after four years, the Ministry of Business and Industry had still not ensured satisfactory case processing times. It was unsatisfactory, the criticism was.
The National Audit Office has since followed up, and a year ago a report for the first half of 2020 showed that the case processing time had become shorter in most boards, but that it was still too long in the Environmental and Food Complaints Board and the Planning Complaints Board.
Now the auditors state in a new report that the case can be closed in the case of the Planning Complaints Board, as there has been an ongoing improvement in the case processing time.
However, it is still too long in the Environmental and Food Complaints Board, and the National Audit Office calls this "unsatisfactory". Therefore, the National Audit Office will continue to monitor the waiting period here and keep the State Auditors informed.
