On Tuesday, MT Højgaard Denmark will hold speed dating for potential partners in Thorsminde. Here they will talk about the upcoming project to establish the transformer station at Volder Mark. The goal for MT Højgaard is to get an overview of the competencies in the area, the company says in a press release.
During the autumn of 2023, MT Højgaard will start the major contractor work associated with establishing the transformer station on land, where all the electricity from the Thor offshore wind farm will be collected.
- We will talk in more detail about what the task of establishing the station entails, in order to give an impression of what competencies we will need. During periods we will employ 10-20 people and during other periods we will draw on approx. 120 employees, says Hasse Stouby Jensen, project director at MT Højgaard.
The competencies should be understood broadly and are within a varied palette of professional skills. This means, for example, that it can be anything from food and catering, accommodation and overnight accommodation or servicing a rubber goat or excavator at the construction site. MT Højgaard is also looking for local DIY stores, which they already know they will frequent frequently.
- My hope is that I will have a good stack of business cards together after the meeting in Thorsminde today. It is not certain that we will be able to see what we can use each other for on the day, but I will write down all the skills on the business cards. Some I will take up immediately, others I will hide. It is actually very practical and when we are short of "hands" or skills, I know who to get hold of, says Hasse Stouby Jensen.
MT Højgaard's task will be to deliver all construction and building work at the transformer station and ensure that roads, drainage, sewers, foundations for transformers, masts and buildings are established. After that, Siemens takes over and is responsible for all the process technology.
