The American oil major Chevron is the latest oil and gas company to also move into offshore renewable energy in the form of offshore wind, after Chevron signed a cooperation agreement with Norway's Moreld Ocean Wind.
Like Equinor and Total, Chevron has chosen to enter into a cooperation on floating offshore wind, which can potentially be connected to Chevron's existing platforms and supply them with electricity for production.
Most major European oil and gas companies have increasingly shifted investments to renewable energy forms, but Chevron is the first of the major American players to now begin to diversify its energy production into offshore wind.
