RINGKØBING-SKJERN: Almost four years ago, a narrow majority in Ringkøbing-Skjern's city council approved - to the great frustration of neighbors - that a larger test turbine center could be built in Lem Kær with tall turbines, solar cells and a power-to-x facility. Since then, the neighbors have heard nothing, but at Tuesday's city council meeting there was new information on the matter. This is reported by Ringkøbing-Skjern Dagblad.

Here, Mayor Hans Østergaard (V) said that the current city council has never dealt with the matter, and that an application for the project has now been resubmitted.

Due to the busyness of the municipality's planning department, however, it is not expected that the application will be processed until 2026.

The slow process has previously attracted criticism - also in the city council, where several city council members are surprised that the project seemed to stall just as it had been approved. This was reported by Dagbladet Holstebro-Struer.

- It is surprising that nothing has happened. At that time we were pressured to make the decision, and it could hardly happen quickly enough. So it is strange that nothing is happening. It must also be strange for the neighbors, who are not fond of the view of turbines up to 270 meters high, said Linda Nielsen (S) several years after the decision was made.
