Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners (CIP) has brought in experienced forces to help develop the VindØ consortium's bid for the establishment of the Energy Island in the North Sea.
The VindØ consortium, which consists of PensionDanmark and PFA and Andel with CIP as project developer, has thus entered into an agreement with the Njord consortium, which is a newly formed consortium consisting of the experienced construction companies Acciona, Boskalis, Deme and MT Højgaard International. Njord is seeking additional advice from Niras. CIP informs in a press release.
The companies behind the Njord consortium each have competences within the marine industry and with offshore constructions, and there is thorough research behind the choice.
- Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners has thoroughly screened the most experienced experts and the world's most suitable partners for the energy island project. We are convinced that the Njord Group offers the experience and capabilities necessary for successful project execution in a safe and reliable manner, even in a harsh marine environment far offshore in the Danish North Sea, says Thomas Dalsgaard, partner in CIP.
The energy island has an estimated budget of DKK 220 billion, making it the largest construction project in Danish history. The Danish Energy Agency is currently in dialogue with potential bidders for the energy island tender, which is expected to be launched in Q3 2022.
