Six 180-meter-high wind turbines with a capacity of 43 MW and a new battery plant could soon become part of the landscape at Kærbøl Mark outside Ribe. Esbjerg Municipality has received a revised application from Eurowind Energy for the installation of the turbines. The project also includes a transformer station and a battery plant with a capacity to store up to 175 MWh. Better Energy is also planning to establish a solar park in the area, which will be transformed into one large energy park. This is reported by JydskeVestkysten.
In order to realize the project, one home must be demolished. An agreement has been reached with the owner, and access roads, crane sites and a grid connection to Ribe's northern business area must be established. The plan has been designated as one of nine prioritized renewable energy projects in the municipality and will trigger a green pool of approximately 13.5 million DKK as well as compensation for homeowners and an annual renewable energy bonus for nearby residents.
Esbjerg Municipality must now decide whether the project should be sent forward for planning and environmental assessment.
