Three companies in the energy and supply group Ewii have changed their names as of November 1. Trefor Vand, Trefor Varme and Trefor Infrastruktur will in future become Ewii Vand, Ewii Varme and Ewii Infrastruktur. The electricity network companies Trefor El-net and Trefor El-net Øst will, however, continue with their names unchanged. This is what Ewii writes.
- We exist for the consumers. That is why we must also make it recognizable and transparent for customers and our surroundings who we are. In the future, they will receive messages from one company instead of from two, search for information on one common website and check their consumption via one self-service, says Lars Bonderup Bjørn, CEO of the Ewii Group.
The name change marks the end of a two-way division that occurred when changes to the Electricity Supply Act previously forced the group to use both Ewii and Trefor as brands. Ewii became the group name, and Trefor was used for the regulated supplies; electricity grid, drinking water and district heating. According to the group, this has often caused confusion among customers, but now they have one unified entrance to the company. The electricity grid companies will retain the Trefor name, as legislation still requires separation between the electricity grid and electricity sales.
- The electricity grid companies are also an important part of the Ewii family. They share the same values and culture as the rest of the group. But here the legislation says that we must keep things separate, and we are of course aware that we comply with the rules on arm's length between electricity supply and other activities,” says Johannes Dalegaard Guldbæk.
The name change to Ewii Infrastruktur, Ewii Vand and Ewii Varme has come into effect, but the previous company names and logos will still be visible during a transitional period. The Ewii Group has around 750 employees and is among the largest private workplaces in the Triangle area.
