JYSK has installed the company's largest solar cell system to date at the distribution center in Radomsko in central Poland. With almost 4,000 panels each with a capacity of 450 Wp (Watt-peak), the system can cover up to 30 percent of the center's annual electricity consumption.

The system is also the first system under JYSK's auspices to be registered as a producer of renewable energy. Any excess power can be sent back to the electricity grid. JYSK states this in a press release.

- With this investment, we not only increase the energy independence of our distribution center, but we also contribute to reducing our CO2 emissions. We are proud to have joined the list of distribution centers that produce renewable energy, says Natalia Swoboda, logistics director for JYSK's distribution center in Radomsko.

The solar cell plant in Radomsko is part of JYSK's sustainability strategy 'A great offer for generations', which was launched in October 2024. The strategy includes, among other things, a goal to reduce the company's greenhouse gas emissions in Scope 1 and 2 by 50.4 percent by the financial year 2032, with 2022 as the baseline.

With the plant in Radomsko, JYSK now has six distribution centers with solar panels, and two more will be added when the centers in Lelystad in the Netherlands and Almenara in Spain open.
