At the turn of the year, European Energy will take over the operation of the Gedmose solar park near Holstebro, which is owned by Heartland, Anders Holch Povlsen's holding company. The solar park has a capacity of 207 MW and was connected to the grid in 2021. This is the first time that European Energy will be responsible for the operation of a solar park that the company has not developed or owned itself. This is stated by European Energy in a statement.

European Energy is thus expanding its portfolio of operating activities, which currently includes the operation and asset management of 4 GW of renewable energy capacity. The agreement is part of the company's strategy to offer operating and asset management services to external owners.

- An important part of our strategic change within asset management has been to offer our services to third-party owners – not only to the parks we develop ourselves. In recent years, we have also developed new technological solutions that enable us to optimize electricity production at a lower cost. Our ambition is for asset management to become a significant source of revenue for the company, and this agreement is an important step in that direction, says Jacob Saust Jacobsen, EVP for Operations and Management at European Energy.

The solar park delivers electricity annually equivalent to the consumption of more than 50,000 households. The production is covered by a power purchase agreement with BESTSELLER, Normal, nemlig.com and Faerch. Heartland emphasizes that the investment is part of the group's long-term focus on renewable energy, and that a stable operator is crucial for the park's continued production.

- In recent years, we have been confirmed in the importance of a strong energy infrastructure that benefits everyone. We are pleased that we have a capable partner to handle the daily operations and ensure that the park continues to contribute effectively to Denmark's energy supply, says Kasper Reggelsen, Head of Communications at Heartland.
