AABENRAA: On Tuesday, European Energy marked the start of construction of their PtX plant and the inauguration of their 300 MW solar cell plant in Kassø near Aabenraa. The first sod for the new PtX plant was laid by Member of the European Parliament Morten Helveg Petersen (R) and Mayor of Aabenraa Municipality, Jan Riber Jakobsen (C), Aabenraa Municipality announced in a statement.
For European Energy, the collaboration with Aabenraa Municipality has been good. The energy company is looking forward to starting to produce e-methanol at the upcoming 50 MW plant for customers such as LEGO Group, Novo Nordisk, Circle K and Mærsk, who have already signed up.

From the approval of the local plan for both the solar cell plant and the PtX plant to the smooth cooperation we have had with the Aabenraa Municipality administration on sparring and questions about the projects. Now we look forward to producing renewable energy in various ways in Kassø for our international customers such as the LEGO Group, Novo Nordisk, Circle K and Maersk, says CEO of European Energy, Knud Erik Andersen.
