Production has begun at the Ingerslev Å solar plant in Jutland with a capacity of 65 MW. Equinor announced this in a press release.
Ingerslev Å is Equinor's first solar plant in Denmark and the first BeGreen project to be put into operation since Equinor acquired the company in 2023.
- This is another step in our ambition to establish a profitable onshore renewable energy business in selected markets in Europe and America. We currently have around 1.2 GW of onshore capacity in operation and under construction, says Anders Bade, Senior Vice President of Onshore and Markets in Renewables at Equinor.
With the plant in operation, all of Equinor's four subsidiaries within onshore renewable energy and battery storage now have assets in production. The company highlights the collaboration with local players and the synergies with Danske Commodities as central to further development.
The plant will thus be operated by BeGreen. The electricity is sold on market terms in the DK1 area of western Denmark through Danske Commodities.
