The last time the Danish Energy Agency carried out a major organizational change was in 2019, where there was, among other things, a focus on implementation. The pace of the green transition has accelerated and the need for effective and rapid implementation has only increased.

The Danish Energy Agency is central to the green transition and Danish security of supply, and therefore the organization must also be geared to deliver on the reality that Denmark is in now and on the challenges it faces in the future, the agency states in a press release.

The Danish Energy Agency is also getting a new strategy with an overall vision that reads:

"Together for the green transition. Safely and efficiently."

The strategy forms the basis for the new organization, which will come into effect from 1 April.

- A lot has happened in the world, in Denmark and in the Danish Energy Agency in recent years. We therefore now see a need to adjust our strategic direction so that we are best equipped to solve not only the challenges of today, but also the challenges of the future. Here, the new organization will, among other things, help us to become even better at looking into the crystal ball and identifying tomorrow's solutions. So that together we can create the green transition safely and efficiently, says Kristoffer Böttzauw, Director of the Danish Energy Agency.

The new organization means that there will be a number of new centers that will support new professional communities - for example, there will be a new Center for Electrification. The center connects electricity infrastructure, consumption and the green fuels of the future with digitalization, flexibility and energy efficiency.

Although the new organization focuses on professional communities, it will not mean that some employees are forced to move between the Danish Energy Agency's two departments in Esbjerg and Copenhagen.
