Doubts have arisen about a large 341 hectare solar cell project to be built in Kolding Municipality in an area between Tankedalsvej, Vonsild and Svanemosen. Better Energy, which is behind the solar cell project, has been in dialogue with 40 landowners about purchasing land. The land was planned to be taken over on 1 July 2025, but now Better Energy has apparently taken its foot off the accelerator. In any case, the schedule for the project has been postponed. This is evident from an email from the energy company to the landowners, according to JydskeVestkysten.
In the email, which the local media has in its possession, the landowners are told that "the market situation has changed in a way that we have had to reassess our upcoming energy projects", and "it is a situation that has significance for the specific project that we are in dialogue with you about. We understand the uncertainty the situation brings, and how it can affect your everyday life and long-term planning - but we continue to hope for your patience", it says. However, Better Energy still believes in the project, and is now also entering into personal dialogue with the landowners.
- We need to know whether people will accept that we push back the time when we take over their land and properties until construction starts, but no later than the end of 2029. It may be a long time to wait for some, says Better Energy director Anders Nielsen, pointing out that everyone needs to be on board for the project to succeed.
