NÆSTVED: A debate proposal about a solar park of approximately 205 hectares near the village of Fodby in Næstved Municipality is currently in public consultation until April 1. With the construction, the developer will pay 25.6 million. DKK to the municipality's Green Pool, either as a lump sum or as annual installments when the plant has achieved grid connection, which is expected to happen in 2029.

This is stated in the minutes from the latest meeting of the Technology and Climate Committee, which also states that there will be a citizens' meeting in Fodby Community Center on March 17th about the project.

According to Sjællandske Nyheder the citizens' group "Bevar Fodby Grønt" has actively entered into dialogue with the municipality and the energy company BeGreen in order to influence how the inconvenience can be minimized when power is to be provided to 58,000 households via the solar cell plant.

- 25 million sounds like a lot of money. But most people in Fodby are concerned about whether the money will end up in the municipal coffers instead of benefiting the local community. That's why we've made a lot of suggestions for what the compensation can be used for, says Lasse Bach from the citizens' group.

Specifically, the citizens' group wants to have old, worn-out buildings demolished and spend money on green areas and playgrounds. The entire project has been scaled down from 368 hectares, so 205 hectares will be used for solar cells and a technical area, while planting belts will be established on approximately 13 hectares as well as nature improvements and recreational nature on 24 hectares.
