VESTHIMMERLAND: Vesthimmerland Municipality is working to build a large energy park with wind turbines, biogas and Denmark's largest solar cell park of over 600 hectares in the municipality. One of the companies behind the possible project is Biocirc. And during a period this summer, which according to TV2 Nord lasted for ten days, the company discharged surface water from the site over a large area close to Farsø.
The discharge occurred despite the company having been banned from spreading surface water in the area. The company has since cleaned up. Despite the violation, the public cannot be informed whether the case has been reported to the police. The municipality never comments on such things, says Mayor Per Bach Laursen (V).
- It has nothing to do with the case. If you want to know, you can ask the company. They are welcome to comment. We (the municipality, ed.) have never commented on any police reports, says the mayor. Biocerc, which has previously been reported to the police by Ringsted Municipality for a similar case, will not state whether the company has been reported to the police by Vesthimmerland Municipality.
