Roskilde University has appointed Peter Kjær as the new head of the Department of People and Technology. He will take up the position on 1 May and at the same time leave the post of Pro-Rector, which he has held since 2014. Roskilde University writes this in a press release.

– I am very much looking forward to continuing the collaboration with Peter Kjær in the new role. I have greatly appreciated his efforts as Pro-Rector, where he has contributed significantly to Roskilde University's development. Over the years, he has shown that he is a skilled leader with a sharp analytical and strategic eye, and with extensive experience in research management, talent development and internationalization. Peter has a clear vision for consolidating the department internally and strengthening collaboration across RUC and out into the region. He is the right person to lead and create value at Roskilde University's largest department, says Rector Hanne Leth Andersen, who is Rector of Roskilde University.

Peter Kjær has been acting head of department for the past three months and is looking forward to the new task:

– The experience as acting head of department – and getting close to the department and its talented employees – has been crucial for my decision. This is where the strategies and plans meet everyday life. As head of department, I will focus on further developing new, strong master's programs, ensuring research of high international quality and maintaining the department's good interaction with actors outside the university. And not least, I will do my part to ensure a good and productive working and collaborative environment at the department, says Peter Kjær, head of department at Roskilde University.

He replaces Bjarke Oxlund, who has become head of department at the University of Copenhagen.
