For the first time, EIT Manufacturing is co-organizing the MIT Europe Conference, which will take place on March 26-27 in Vienna. The conference brings together researchers from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) as well as European industry players and politicians to discuss the manufacturing industry of the future. This is stated by MIT Europe in a press release.

The conference has the theme "The Future of Manufacturing" and offers presentations from nine MIT researchers on, among other things, AI-driven automation and the role of biotechnology in production.

- The conference is a unique opportunity to strengthen Europe's position in industrial innovation and connect MIT's expertise with European industry, says CEO of EIT Manufacturing Caroline Viarouge.

The event is expected to attract over 400 industry leaders, researchers and companies with an interest in artificial intelligence, biotechnology and data-driven manufacturing.

Among the MIT researchers are Ben Armstrong, who looks at the impact of AI on employment, and Bruce Lawler, who examines how AI and analytics can give companies a competitive advantage. J. Christopher Love will highlight the importance of biotechnology for the food, energy and healthcare sectors, while Hiram Samel focuses on the scaling of new manufacturing technologies. In addition, researchers such as John Liu, Kaitlyn Becker, Phil Budden and Suzanne Berger will provide insights into soft robots, industrial innovation and interdisciplinary collaboration.

The MIT Europe Conference is held every two years and this year will take place for the tenth time at the Austrian Chamber of Commerce WKÖ. In addition to physical attendance, the conference can be followed via a free live stream.
