The Topsøe family has been named Owner-Manager of the Year 2025. The family is behind the Danish company Topsoe A/S, which for more than 80 years has had a significant impact on Danish business and global industry. The award is presented by PwC in collaboration with Nykredit and Dansk Erhverv.
The company was founded in 1940 by Haldor Topsøe with a vision to promote technological innovation within catalysis – a technology that was of great importance to the chemical industry and the oil and gas sector. Today, Topsoe employs around 2,800 employees worldwide and delivers solutions that support the green transition and Power-to-X technology.
- Based on the founder's deep interest in science and entrepreneurship, the family has continued this legacy through generations and developed the company into a global leader in sustainable solutions. Today, the company contributes, among other things, to to optimize energy consumption and reduce CO2 emissions worldwide, says Ulrik Ræbild, partner and responsible for Owner-Manager of the Year at PwC, in a press release.
The family, now in its third and fourth generation, continues the company's values and strategic direction. Jakob Topsøe is chairman of the family's owner company Topsøe Holding A/S and vice chairman of Topsoe A/S.

Owner-Manager of the Year honors individuals or families who have had a significant influence on Danish business for a long time and have shown courage, ambition and the ability to create lasting results. This is the ninth time the award has been presented. Previous winners include the Tøpholm and Westermann families from WS Audiology, Thomas Kirk Kristiansen from LEGO Group and Anders Holch Povlsen from Bestseller.
