In 2022, the energy group Andel presented an investment program, in which plans were presented to invest 90 billion DKK earmarked for green energy production up to 2035.
Andel has now brought in an experienced man to help manage the money. Thus, the Danish Energy Agency's former deputy director responsible for energy islands, Mogens Hagelskær, is moving to a position as program director at Andel. He himself states this in a post on LinkedIn.
At Andel, he will be responsible for building the business area that will help realize the forward-looking investment profile for the implementation of the large amount of money.
He states that the focus in the business development plan will be on solar, offshore wind, onshore wind and PtX, as well as ensuring that the products become real projects and real production and real renewable energy.
"It is a huge investment in Andel and it will significantly extend the value chain over the coming years and ensure new products that all cooperative members can benefit from and enjoy," writes Mogens Hagelskær in the post.
Does not mention energy island project
Mogens Hagelskær took up a newly created position as deputy director responsible for energy islands at the Danish Energy Agency in 2022. Despite his extensive involvement and thus knowledge in the energy island projects, it is not directly mentioned in Hagelskær's LinkenIn post.
Andel is otherwise part of the Vindø consortium, which has entered the fray as one of the possible bidders for the project for the establishment of an energy island in the North Sea.
However, the project in the North Sea has turned out to be worth up to 50 billion. more expensive, and therefore the tender for the energy island in June was postponed.
Since then, the office Center For Energiø Nordsøen under the Danish Energy Agency has been closed, and the employees and responsibility for the energy island have been moved to the Ministry of Climate, Energy and Utilities.
Therefore, there is now uncertainty about the future of the project, which may also be the reason for Hagelskær's lack of naming the project.
