BILLUND: There is great interest in setting up energy projects in Billund Municipality. The municipality has received applications for 16 energy projects, divided into nine pure solar cell projects, three wind turbine projects, three combined solar and wind projects and a single biogas project. The municipality informs in a press release.

The 16 applications received will now be screened, and when the technical screening has been completed, the projects will be available on the municipality's website. The plan is then to politically prioritize 1-2 projects in the spring, which will be worked on further in 2025, where, among other things, an expanded citizen dialogue will be carried out.

- It is really positive that we have received so many applications. This shows that many players are ready to take responsibility for supporting the green transition of the energy system. At the same time, it is crucial that we take into account the neighbors and local communities that the projects affect. That is why I am looking forward to discussing the projects politically when the administration has finished the technical screening, says Stephanie Storbank, Mayor of Billund Municipality.

Before Christmas, the municipal council agreed on three principles that will set the direction for renewable energy in the municipality. They are: "local support", "more value for money" and "coherent development".
