Several companies were evacuated on Wednesday in an industrial area at Mads Clausens Vej between Ikast and Bording after a leak of ammonia. This is reported by TV Midtvest. On Wednesday afternoon, the head of the Central and West Jutland Police, Carsten Henriksen, informed Ritzau that everything is under control. It was a minor leak. However, the leak meant that surrounding companies were evacuated.

- It is a dangerous mess. Therefore, the surrounding companies have been evacuated to the extent that it has been relevant, says the head of the Central and West Jutland Police.

Ammonia is a gas that consists of nitrogen and hydrogen. Health care personnel have been on site to check on people who have been in contact with the ammonia. No one has symptoms, and they have therefore not received treatment, the police reported on Wednesday afternoon. The police say that the leak occurred when the gas was to be reloaded between two trucks.

- And then the hose burst, and a few hundred liters - estimated 200 liters - flowed out, says Carsten Henriksen.

He also says that you should contact your doctor if you have been near the ammonia and experience symptoms.   Citizens in the area may be able to smell the spill for a few hours until the last of it has evaporated, the police say.

- The smell may be bothersome, but is not harmful to health or dangerous, the police write on the social media X.
