Velux Fonen is allocating DKK 75 million over a period of five years to support the Think Tank Hav, which is to be a "pivot point in the work for a clean, healthy ocean and sustainable use of the ocean". Specifically, the think tank will gather knowledge and create cooperation between companies, citizens and decision-makers to restore the ocean. The think tank will also contribute knowledge about business opportunities in the blue transition.
- Fortunately, there is a lot of attention to the need for a green transition on land. But the crisis for nature and the environment in the ocean, which covers 70 percent of the earth's surface, is unfortunately largely overlooked. That is why we need a think tank that puts all its efforts into the ocean, and that shows ways to how we can get started with a blue transition, says Maria Reumert Gjerding, chairwoman of the think tank's board.
The think tank's board is broadly composed. In addition to Maria Reumert Gjerding, it consists of, among others, marine scientist Katherine Richardson and the deputy chairman of the board, Thomas Thune Andersen, who is also chairman of the board of directors of, among others, Ørsted A/S and VKR Holding A/S. The CEO will be Liselotte Hohwy Stokholm, former director of Copenhagen Business Hub.
