The Energy Agency's heat pump pool for 2026 opens on Thursday at 10 with amended rules that are intended to make it easier and more attractive for homeowners to switch to a heat pump. The subsidy has been raised to a fixed amount of DKK 27,000 regardless of the choice of air-to-water or geothermal heating. In 2025, the subsidy for an air-to-water heat pump was DKK 17,000. This is stated by the Danish Energy Agency in a press release.
This year, the fund has a total budget of DKK 116.9 million, which is enough to support more than 4,300 households. Applications are processed on a first-come, first-served basis, and according to the Danish Energy Agency, most applicants receive a response within a few days. Last year, commitments were made to over 7,300 homeowners who applied for support for the installation of a heat pump.
The scheme is aimed at owners of year-round homes without access to district heating, which are currently heated with oil, gas, electric heating or a bio-boiler. It is possible to obtain guidance and offers from installers before applying for a subsidy, but binding agreements may not be entered into before a commitment has been made.
At the same time, the Danish Energy Agency would like to point out that the Energy Renovation Fund has also been opened. Here, homeowners can apply for subsidies for, among other things, insulation, new windows, ventilation and water-based space heating. The fund has a budget of DKK 51.5 million in 2026. DKK.
