There is a majority in favor of the Speaker of the Danish Parliament, Søren Gade (V), continuing in office, and that he can continue to hold other positions in addition to that position.

This was confirmed on Wednesday after a meeting of the Committee for the Rules of Procedure (UFO) in the Danish Parliament.

Here, the case of Søren Gade was discussed after it emerged on Tuesday that Søren Gade is still chairman of the board of the company Tecleaf, even though he had stated that he had quit.

Søren Gade is also the paid chairman of the board of the Port of Esbjerg, which has been criticized from several quarters recently. But despite incorrect information, there is support, for example, from the Liberal Alliance member of UFO, Ole Birk Olesen.

- We still believe that he is the right chairman of the Folketing, says Ole Birk Olesen.

The Social Democrats' group chairman and member of UFO Leif Lahn Jensen also supports Søren Gade.

- He has complied with the rules that exist, says Leif Lahn Jensen.

Question: Even if Søren Gade says the wrong things?

- He has now explained what the background was for it, and we have bought it. So yes, there is support, Leif Lahn Jensen answers without elaborating further.
