GreenLab CEO Christopher Sorensen has no doubt why 250 people with expertise in green energy have made the journey to Skive.
- How many here have experienced challenges in the green transition and green technology?, asks Christopher Sorensen, while raising his hand.
Hands go up among the participants in the hall in KulturCenter Skive.
- I'm glad there are so many of us here, and people have come such a long way, says Sorensen, showing his sense of humor:
- I know that those of you who come from Copenhagen think it's you. But we're going much further. We have participants from California and Minnesota.
There's a good reason why participants have made the long journey - and that's all that's going on in Greenlab Skive.
Those of you who have traveled this far probably don't quite know what GreenLab is and why it exists. GreenLab is here because of the climate, says Christopher Sorensen, turning to an example from his own life:
- A few weeks ago my boat was here 2.5 meters from the water, he says and shows two pictures of his boat, which has almost disappeared into the water because the sea has taken over a large part of the coast.
The CEO also has a message for the participants, who must help fight climate change.
- We must have a holistic view of energy, and that requires cooperation. This means that we all have to work together here today to succeed in this task.
Green fuel
Here, specifically, there are also tasks that are desperately needed.
- How many people here buy green fuel, asks Christopher Sorensen and looks for hands in the room.
But there is not a single hand among the participants.
- A market must be created for the green fuel when we all want to make it, he says, before turning to what drives his employees.
- We are 30 ambitious people who get up every day and are happy to come to work at six. Many here have left good jobs, for example at Vestas, to move all the way out here to work for Greenlab, concludes Christopher Sorensen.
