In connection with the leaks on the Nord Stream 1 and 2 gas pipelines, it emerged that Norwegian drilling platforms had been visited by unidentified drones for some time.

Now TotalEnergies, which operates the Danish oil and gas field Halfdan B in the North Sea, says that it has also had uninvited guests here.

- We can confirm that there have been observations of unauthorized drone activity at the Halfdan B oil and gas field in the North Sea on September 28, TotalEnergies' press department tells Ekstra Bladet.

The police are also aware of the matter. The South and South Jutland Police received a call on Wednesday afternoon that some employees had observed a drone near the drilling platform earlier in the day. This is what the National Police informs TV 2.

- The police are investigating the incident and cannot provide any further information at this time, according to an email from the National Police to the media.

The Danish Energy Agency calls for increased safety

Ritzau has unsuccessfully tried to get an interview with the Danish Energy Agency about the matter. However, the agency wrote in an email to Ritzau on Thursday evening that TotalEnergies had made it aware of the incident.

The agency further states that even before the incident in the North Sea, it had called on the sector to increase safety measures.

The Halfdan B field is located 210 kilometers west of Esbjerg. The field was previously operated by Maersk Oil, but was taken over by TotalEnergies when Maersk sold its oil and gas activities from 2018.

If you rank the Danish gas fields by how many cubic meters of gas have been extracted, Halfdan is the second largest. Until 2020, a total of 35 million cubic meters had been lifted from the ground from Halfdan.

Denmark's largest gas field is Tyra, which is currently undergoing a major renovation and is therefore out of operation. It has delivered 111 million cubic meters of gas over time.
