Dall Energy has seen increasing demand from French municipalities and companies in recent years, which has led to significant growth in the country for the company. The good results have given the Danish company a boost, which now has a goal of becoming a leading player in biomass process technology in France.
To strengthen this strategy, Dall Energy has now acquired the French market leader in biomass technology, Weiss France Énergie (Weiss), and the subsidiary Biomasse Services et Maintenance (BSM) from Groupe Roullier for an undisclosed amount. Together, they will deliver solutions that can strengthen the green energy transition in France within both the district heating sector and the manufacturing industry. Dall Energy states this in a press release.
- We are excited about this acquisition. Weiss is a local, leading supplier of energy technology, and our technologies complement each other. Together we will be able to deliver even better solutions to the country's district heating companies and process industry, says Dall Energy CEO Jens Bentzen.
More synergies
Both Dall Energy and Weiss specialize in the development of biomass technologies and solutions that include dry biomass resources, wet biomass and raw materials with a high content of pollutants. They also service plants directly or through partnerships.
Going forward, Dall Energy and Weiss will work closely together – also with the main investor Eiffel IG – to contribute to combating climate change through the replacement of coal and gas and more energy efficiency. First in France, but probably soon throughout the EU, where the green energy transition is in a crucial phase.
- France is a primary market for us, and Weiss' extensive network and partners will help us build closer relationships in the country. Initially as separate entities – but we have planned a Post Merger Integration (PMI) process this autumn so that we can exploit the synergies as soon as possible," says Jens Bentzen.
Together, BSM, Weiss and Dall Energy will have approximately 100 employees distributed across France and Denmark. Weiss and BSM will continue their business from their respective offices in France. During 2024, Weiss will assist Dall Energy with the establishment of a "Dall Energy France" company. Strategic plans to promote synergies between the companies will be launched during autumn 2024.
