There was a lot of opposition to the offshore wind farm Vesterhav Syd, which became fully operational at the beginning of this year. But some who do not seem to be opposed to the turbines are the visitors to Hvide Sande. Because here, Danish and especially German tourists are interested in a boat trip to the wind farm, which consists of 20 offshore wind turbines. DR writes DR.
- There was a fairly high demand. People want to go out and see what kind of turbines they are. German tourists in particular are impressed by the Danish wind turbine industry, so they want to go out and see and hear about the turbines, says Fritz Kott, co-owner of Kott Fritid, which is responsible for the boat trips.
Originally, Fritz Kott sailed harbor cruises in the West Jutland city. But due to demand, he created the "offshore windmill safari" tours, which go out to the turbines, which stand ten kilometers off the coast of Hvide Sande. Several thousand tourists have already taken this trip this year.
