AARHUS / SYDDJURS: On Tuesday, the magistrate in Aarhus Municipality decided to forward a local plan proposal for the construction of three 150-meter-high wind turbines to the city council. The wind turbines, which have been applied for to be built by NRGi Renewables, are to supply electricity to approximately 9,000-9,500 households and support Aarhus' goal of climate neutrality by 2030. However, the turbines are to be built in Vosnæs close to the municipal border, and this is meeting resistance in the neighboring municipality of Syddjurs, where Mayor Michael Stegger (S) criticizes that neither Syddjurs nor local citizens' objections have been met by Aarhus Municipality. This is reported by TV2 Østjylland.
- They have given us zero percent right, because not a comma has been changed, says the mayor.
He states that the municipality is working on a formal objection that will be sent in June. The goal is for the case to end up on the table of the Minister for Urban and Rural Areas, Morten Dahlin (V). A meeting with the minister has already been attempted, but has been temporarily rejected with reference to the fact that the case is pending. Michael Stegger, however, hopes that the minister will still take a position on the case, which according to him has major consequences for both nature, the economy and people in Syddjurs.
