Vestas has received an order from RWE for the British offshore wind project Vanguard West with a total capacity of 1.38 GW.
Vestas writes in a press release.

The order includes 92 V236-15.0 MW turbines, for which Vestas will be responsible for delivery, transport and commissioning. Once the project is complete, the company will also service the turbines through a five-year service agreement followed by a long-term operating agreement. The order follows the UK's Allocation Round 7.

- The momentum behind offshore wind in Europe is gathering pace as the UK government has increased its commitment to Allocation Round 7 and projects such as Vanguard West are moving forward. The combination of industry collaboration and political support sends a clear signal of the UK's ambitions for renewable energy. The project strengthens the country's long-term energy security and can contribute to lower energy prices for consumers, says Nils de Baar, President of Vestas Northern & Central Europe and Global Offshore.

Vanguard West is being built about 47 km off the coast of Norfolk in eastern England. RWE expects to make a final investment decision in the summer of 2026, while commissioning is planned for 2029.
