Danish Business has launched an emergency package to promote the implementation of large battery storage systems in Denmark. These are batteries, which are crucial for improving the use of renewable energy and strengthening the energy supply. The proposal contains a total of five initiatives that will pave the way for batteries, writes Energi Watch.
According to Danish Business, the so-called Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) play a key role in storing energy from wind and sun so that it can be used when the need arises. The technology makes it possible to utilize green power more efficiently, stabilizes the electricity grid, reduces the need for fossil backup plants and can also lower costs for consumers.
- If Denmark wants to be a green pioneer, we must also be a pioneer in storage. Batteries are not only green technology, they are the prerequisite for a robust, flexible and competitive energy system, says Ulrich Bang, deputy director of the Confederation of Danish Enterprise.
