The German developer wpd has ordered 40 wind turbines from Nordex Group for nine projects in Germany. The total capacity of the order is 279.2 MW, and the agreement also includes a service agreement for maintenance of the turbines for 15 years. This is stated by Nordex in a press release.
The order includes 36 N163/6.X wind turbines and four N175/6.X wind turbines. The turbines are to be installed in several German states, including Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, North Rhine-Westphalia, Hesse and Lower Saxony. All turbines are installed on hybrid towers. The N163 turbines will have a hub height of 164 meters, while the N175 turbines will be placed on hybrid towers with a height of 179 meters. Delivery and installation of the turbines for the individual projects is planned for 2027, after which they will primarily be operated in a 7 MW mode.
- Wpd's decision to once again choose our technology – this time also the N175/6.X turbines – following their significant order of almost 126 MW in September 2025 is a strong recognition of both our team's skills and our technological strength. We are very pleased to continue our cooperation, which has grown over many years, says Karsten Brüggemann, Vice President Region Central at Nordex Group.
