LM Wind Power's test facilities at the WMC Technology Center in Wieringerwerf in the Netherlands will soon house the world's largest rotor test rig.

It is a consortium consisting of GE Renewable Energy, which owns LM Wind Power, LM Wind Power itself, and Dutch TNO, which is behind the construction of the upcoming test rig, which is financed with support from the Dutch authorities.

The test rig must carry out in-house tests for GE Renewable Energy's wind turbine rotor and help optimize the design of more than just LM Wind Power's wind turbine blades.

- The establishment of the most advanced and largest rotor test rig of its sale shows that we are ready to commit to creating insight into rotor technology and go beyond just the production of blades, says Hanif Mashal, Vice President of Engineering at LM Wind Power.

The test facilities are scheduled to be ready for use by November this year.

WMC Technology Center started as part of the Delft University of Technology and since 1984 has been working with the testing of wind turbine blades. The center and its tests have been under the wing of LM Wind Power since 2018.
