ESVAGT has acquired the two Service Operation Vessels (SOVs) Breeze Enabler and Brint Enabler from Norwegian Edda Wind through a full acquisition of the Spanish companies that own the vessels.
The vessels are sailing on long-term contracts with Ocean Breeze in Germany and Vestas in the UK. Following negotiations with the customers, the contracts have been transferred to ESVAGT, and the crews of both vessels have also been offered employment with the company. This is stated by ESVAGT in a press release.
- We are pleased to have entered into this agreement with Edda Wind for two quality vessels after a constructive process. We appreciate the trust that Ocean Breeze and Vestas have shown in us and look forward to continuing safe and efficient operations, says Søren Karas, CEO of ESVAGT.
With the acquisition, ESVAGT confirms its position as a market leader in long-term SOV operations. The fleet now numbers 12 vessels, while three more SOVs are under construction for projects in the UK, the Netherlands and the USA with planned delivery in 2026. According to the company, the development also reflects ESVAGT's focus on the green transition in the energy sector.
- Together with ESVAGT's recent commissioning of the world's first methanol-powered SOV for Ørsted, this development underlines our commitment to driving a meaningful green transition in energy production, says Kristian Ole Jakobsen, CEO of ESVAGT.
