Cadeler has entered into two major contracts for full-scale transport and installation of foundations and turbines for an upcoming offshore wind turbine project. The total value of the agreements is around 500 million euros. The offshore shipping company said in a statement. Cadeler did not disclose who the customer is and where the turbines will be built.
Work on the foundations will begin in early 2029 and will be carried out with one of the company's new A-class vessels. Installation of the turbines is scheduled to start in early 2030 and will be carried out with an O-class jack-up vessel. The project is expected to be completed the same year.
The contracts are conditional on the customer's final investment decision. If the project does not materialize, the agreements can be terminated against payment of a fee.
- This project strengthens Cadeler's position as a full-scale T&I partner in the foundation area and shows that our strategic direction is in line with market needs. With our fleet of nine installation vessels – and three more under construction – Cadeler continues to deliver flexibility, efficiency and solutions for increasingly complex projects and to support the necessary expansion of offshore wind globally, says Mikkel Gleerup, CEO of Cadeler.
