It has flowed in with the application to the Danish Energy Agency to build offshore wind farms according to the so-called open door scheme. Specifically, the Danish Energy Agency has received 27 applications for new offshore wind turbine projects in the period April 2022 to 20 June 2022.
However, several of these are rejected right at the door, as the applications in several cases go into areas that have already been set aside due to state land reservations. Specifically, it concerns 16 applications in the following areas: Aalbæk bugt, Esbjerg, Falster, Hanstholm, Hirtshals, Stevns, Tønder and Djursland, the Energy Agency informs DK Vindkraft.
"It is stated in the law on the promotion of renewable energy that applications cannot be submitted outside of tenders that fully or partially overlap with the state land reservations. Applications received in these areas must be rejected by the Minister for Climate, Energy and Supply, " writes the Danish Energy Agency in a press release.
The Danish Energy Agency has apparently not even initially been aware of this, which is why several authority hearings have been initiated in the past.
As a result, the Danish Energy Agency has therefore decided to cancel the official hearings on the offshore wind farms at Hanstholm, Stevns and Falster.
