Four developers of renewable energy have, according to EnergiWatch, submitted a termination of their membership with Green Power Denmark. These are Lisby Energy, PMN Holding and the two major players European Energy and Eurowind. According to documents that the media has seen, the terminations were sent before the New Year. None of the two largest developers want to comment on either the termination or the background to it, but they do not deny that the termination has been sent.

According to Green Power Denmark's articles of association, there is a one-year notice of termination, and the four companies will therefore remain paying members until the end of 2026. Green Power Denmark does not want to be interviewed about the terminations, but refers to a written comment.

- Green Power Denmark has approx. 1,350 members. This means that we are constantly receiving new member registrations or cancellations from existing members, says Jan Hylleberg, deputy director of Green Power Denmark, who states that the long notice period is precisely to have "a good, objective and constructive dialogue" about the members who wish to cancel.

Expensive cancellations for Green Power Denmark

The organization had approximately 1,500 members about a year ago and has thus lost about 150 since then. A large part of the decline is due to private individuals canceling their membership, but there have also been fewer members among the heavier dues payers.

Over the past year, there have been 21 fewer members in the group, which includes project developers, and which Green Power Denmark currently estimates at 475. It is particularly developers of land-based renewable energy that have lost members in the organization. Previously, Wind Estate, Momentum Energy and Skovgaard Energy, among others, have also left Green Power Denmark.

The announced announcements are expected to reduce Green Power Denmark's quota income by more than eight million DKK annually, corresponding to around one tenth of the organization's total income from quotas.
