With effect from 1 July, the Danish Energy Agency has implemented new rules for the renewable energy schemes. The new rules mean, among other things, that the rate for the green pool and renewable energy bonus will be increased by 150 per cent respectively. and 50 percent, the agency states in a press release.

"For example, this will mean that the installer of a new solar cell system with 30 MW of solar power must pay DKK 3.75 million into the green pool, which the municipality distributes to local projects and initiatives. The increase is intended to contribute to local support for renewable energy on land, and the parties behind the climate agreement have emphasized that neighbors and local communities also share in the benefits of setting up renewable energy systems," the announcement says.

At the same time as the increase in the contribution, it will also be possible for installers to pay into the green pool in installments and to share funds from the green pool with neighboring municipalities, just as the allocation deadline for the green pool has been extended from three to five years.

In addition, there are new rules for calculating the renewable energy bonus for hybrid systems and the electricity price used when calculating the renewable energy bonus. The changes apply to renewable energy plants that have obtained a building permit from 1 July 2024.
