HORSENS: Soon, several ministers can expect an inquiry from Horsens Municipality, which will propose an amendment to the Planning Act.

The Horsens City Council wants it to be possible to require local plans that new, larger buildings be designed and constructed so that solar cells can be installed on them. This is stated in the city council minutes. The requirement will typically be relevant in industrial areas.

A change in the law will be possible in connection with the fact that an update of the EU's Building Directive must still be implemented, the municipality argues. According to the directive, all buildings must use the least possible energy, and member states must support the installation of solar cell systems on all new public buildings and new commercial buildings over 250 m2. By 2030, solar cell systems must also be planned for all new residential buildings.

As charging stations

A unanimous city council is behind the request to the government, which is an amendment to a proposal from the Liberal Party's mayoral candidate, Martin Ravn.

"Previously, it was not possible to require the installation of electric charging stations at parking lots in new local plans. This was of course changed after the strong spread of electric cars, so that the municipal council can systematically support and support the green transition," is his argument that it is time for a similar option for solar cells.

Martin Ravn referred in his proposal to the fact that the city council will soon have to deal with the installation of renewable energy systems, and that many have pointed out that it would be smarter to install solar cells on buildings, so that agricultural land is used for renewable energy systems to the smallest extent possible.

Several parties were However, they were against linking solar cells on roofs with solar cells on agricultural land, and therefore that part of the proposal was removed so that everyone could vote in favor – except for the DF's lone member, who voted blank.
