Equinor opens new office in Copenhagen

Equinor has opened a new office in Copenhagen, where the company will share an address with its subsidiary Danske Commodities. The new location marks a strengthening of Equinor's Danish presence after several years of acquisitions and investments in both energy trading, renewable energy and CO2 storage. Equinor's CEO, Anders Opedal, writes on his LinkedIN profile.

In particular, Equinor has in recent years acquired the energy trader Danske Commodities and the solar developer BeGreen, and is developing a CO2 storage project in Kalundborg together with Ørsted and Nordsøfonden. The company also owns 10 percent of Ørsted. In addition, according to Opedal, Equinor has located the headquarters of its global offshore wind business, which is led by newly appointed Trine Borum Bojsen, in Copenhagen.

"Previously, Equinor was probably best known in Denmark for hotdogs at gas stations. But after the sale of the Danish activities we owned at the time, we have gradually developed a new footprint in the country. It was an honor to cut the ribbon for our new office, and I hope that it will be a place where we can combine the best of Denmark and Norway and play an even more important role in Europe's green transition," Opedal writes in the post.
