Green Power Denmark has taken over the chairmanship of the joint Nordic energy cooperation Nordenergi for the next two years. As chairman, the organization will strengthen Nordic cooperation and work for a joint effort in European energy policy. This is stated by the industry organization.
- Nordenergi is a valuable collaboration where the energy sector's spokespeople across the Nordic countries can join forces and create greater influence in Europe. The Nordic countries have many of the same challenges, but also the same strengths. Together we can show the rest of Europe how the energy sector can create security, growth and jobs with green electricity, says Ole Rydahl Svensson, Head of Public Affairs, EU and Press at Green Power Denmark.
Nordenergi brings together industry organizations for electricity supply and energy production in Denmark, Sweden, Norway, Finland and Iceland. The participants are Green Power Denmark, Swedenergy, Renewables Norway, Finnish Energy and the Icelandic Samorka. The cooperation acts as a common voice for the Nordic energy sectors and is intended to contribute to a more integrated and well-functioning European energy system.
- We see great potential in Nordenergi. Together with our Nordic partners, we will work to make the cooperation even stronger and even more influential for the benefit of both our members and society as a whole, states Ole Rydahl Svensson.
The chairmanship of Nordenergi rotates between the Nordic countries every two years. Green Power Denmark takes over the position from Renewables Norway, which has led the cooperation since 2023. The Danish chairmanship runs until autumn 2027.
