Denmark's largest energy company, Andel Energi, has opened its first physical stores on Friday. The first two will be located in Odense and Aalborg, where customers can get personal advice on lower electricity bills, heating and smarter energy consumption. The energy company announced this in a statement.
The stores will be established as shop-in-shops in Elgiganten's warehouses and will be staffed by Andel Energi's own employees. The collaboration will combine Elgiganten's experience with retail and Andel Energi's expertise in energy solutions.
- This is the first time that we at Andel Energi have tried our hand at physical stores. Our core business consists of climate-friendly energy solutions and energy optimization for both private and business customers. But retail is a new area for us, which is why we have allied ourselves with Elgiganten, who are some of the best in Denmark for retail, says Daniel Jørgensen, customer director at Andel Energi.
The opening comes in line with major changes in the energy market. Electricity prices have fluctuated significantly this year, and the phasing out of gas for heating by 2035 is causing many Danes to consider new solutions such as heat pumps and home batteries. Andel Energi's own employees will be helping and advising customers in the new stores. It will be clear to customers whether they are talking to an employee from Elgiganten or from Andel Energi.
- Tens of thousands of Danes across the country will need a new heating source for their homes in the relatively near future. As Denmark's largest supplier of gas to private households, we have already begun to notice increasing uncertainty among several gas customers. In our new stores it will therefore also be possible to get advice and guidance on a new, cheaper and more climate-friendly heating source such as a heat pump, says Daniel Jørgensen.
