The battery parks will store energy when there is high production from solar and wind energy, and deliver it back to the electricity grid when demand increases. This technology makes it possible to stabilize both the Danish and European electricity grids and ensures a stable and green power supply. This is what Green Power Denmark writes.
The three plants will have a total capacity of 36 MW/72 MWh, equivalent to the electricity consumption of around 6,000 Danish households in one day. Two of the battery parks are expected to be ready in June 2025, making them an important part of the Danish effort to strengthen the electricity grid with renewable energy.
BattMan Energy has acquired these plants from Hitachi Energy as part of its strategy to become a leading player in battery energy storage systems (BESS). The company also has ambitions to invest over 100 million euros in additional battery projects by the end of 2024.
Claus Madsen, CEO of Hitachi Energy, sees battery solutions as an essential part of the energy system of the future and highlights the importance of collaborations with innovative companies like BattMan Energy to promote the spread of advanced energy storage technology.
